Battlefield 1 – April-Patch erscheint Morgen: Platoons, Waffenvarianten & Mehr

Battlefield 1 – April patch released Tomorrow: Platoons, Weapon Variants & More

Do you remember, as we were told on Monday, that the April patch for Battlefield 1 would be postponed due to certification and would not appear on Tuesday – aka the traditional patch day …? If you were worried that you would have to wait a long time, you can now lean back and relax: DICE has just announced that the update will be released on Thursday.

On the PC it starts with the two-hour downtime from 9:00 clock; This will be followed by the Playstation 4 at 11:00 and the Xbox One at 13:00. There is not yet an xchange changelog; many details are already known. And we summarize what you need to know …

  • New content : Four new weapon variants of the “Level 10” Class Weapons and 19 new and mostly focused on the team play Ribbons are in the update.
  • Platoons : Even the already known from the predecessors Platoons are back with it.
  • Server features : A game start from six players, Mapvotes to the round end for all, admin and VIP lists as well as password protection extend the so far very narrow functions for private servers.
  • Netcode : The netcode has been revised. Players with a high ping will now be less worried about frustrating deaths.
  • Balance : Grenades will not be automatically regenerated. What remains of the automatically appearing grenades is the fact that grenades are now regenerating in the background and that after a while you get the grenade immediately at the next Ammobox. In addition, various maps and modes have been revised and aircraft somewhat weakened.

In the livestream of the Battlefield 1 April Patch, DICE made a few announcements about the update. In addition to really good news for server admins, the devs have had more info: platoons, new weapon variants, new ribbons, mapvotes for all, admin rights, VIP lists and Co. should make fans happy. The only downside: The April update may not appear in April, as it is still in the certification. But it should not take too long anyway.

  • Platoons : Platoons will be available for everyone with the next patch.
  • New weapon variants : The patch will contain four new variants of existing weapons.
  • More ribbons : There are 19 new ribbons. The focus is mainly on teamwork – Revives, spotting and Co. are now bringing the ribbons.
  • Mapvotes : As of now, Mapvotes are always the default and enabled on all servers.
  • Admin rights awarded : From now on there can be several admins per server.
  • Fewer players to start : Instead of at least 20 players per server, now 6 players are needed to start the game. In the future, the number will probably be freely selectable.
  • VIPs : The developer is not quite sure; if the certification works, there will also be VIP lists for servers.
  • Passwords : There will definitely be password protection for private servers.
  • Dead scoff : Medics can now mock the dead to signal that they want to save them.
  • Ticks : The flag conquest now brings fewer points; every second in the flag radius brings more points for it.
  • Grenades : Grenades will not be automatically regenerated. What remains of the automatically appearing grenades is the fact that grenades are now regenerating in the background and that after a while you get the grenade immediately at the next Ammobox.
  • Netcode : The netcode will now punish players who have a ping of over 100. The hit detection is changed to a server-side version for these players.

Battlefield 1 – Hardcore Damage, More Hardcore, Servers & More

Even on weekends, let’s not forget to type some fresh news about Battlefield 1 after inspecting world domination plans . Today in the message: DICE will turn up the hardcore damage again, the next round of tests of Premium Friends is pending and DICE confirms that servers are in Frankfurt. And we have all the details for you …

  • Premium Friends is back : Premium Friends was not available for a short time. But the next round of testing is coming up very soon – who is in the party with a premium player can go to all DLC servers; but does not earn any points.
  • 200 percent damage : DICE will increase the hardcore damage to 200 percent in the next few days – probably with the April patch . This should be the implementation of a vote .
  • Hardcore and They Shall Not Pass : Immediately all modes are in They Shall Not Pass in hardcore mode available . If you are looking for the server, just search for “- [DICE] – Hardcore – TSNP TDM -“.
  • German servers : The desire for servers standing in Germany was called again and again. However, one wonders at DICE about something: In Frankfurt, there are already servers.

Battlefield 1 – Ammo 2.0 is officially dead

Do you remember the time when DICE wanted to completely redefine the balance of Battlefield 1 with Ammo 2.0 ? Grenades and virtually all gadget ammunition should regenerate, there would have been fewer gadget ammunition for spawning and ammo boxes would have significantly reduced the regeneration time. Now it’s clear: with the exception of the faster resupply time for grenades – by the way, you still have to go to support to get a grenade at the end … – Ammo 2.0 is officially dead .

That means three things: There will definitely be no magical inventory of ammo for gadgets and grenades, DICE has made a big balance change and you will not be punished if you just throw a grenade just before death. Attempting to make support and team play more important, prevent equipment suspected of dying and at the same time ensure that gadgets without support do not become completely useless, is history.

Battlefield 1 – The Name Of The Tsar Brings Snow, Russia, Cannons & More

In addition to the information on monthly patches and Co. for Battlefield 1, DICE has also unveiled first tangible information on In The Name Of The Tsar. In addition to artwork for the second DLC including Russian Cossacks, giant guns, a ship and snow, there are also first references to weapons, the various maps and more. And we summarize everything again …

  • In The Name Of The Tsar : The second expansion brings Russia as a new faction. On the artworks – which, incidentally, are quite close to the real content in the light of past experiences … – you can see many more things about that.
  • Snow : All artworks show more or less snow.
  • Three Maps : If you look at the artwork, you can assume that three different maps will be shown. A massively snowy and flat map, a battlefield on the coast with small islands and a battlefield in the mountains can be seen.
  • Cossacks : There are the notorious Cossack riders.
  • Big Cannon : On a map there is a gigantic cannon reminiscent of shore batteries.
  • New vehicle : There is a new armored vehicle that apparently has cannons on its sides and probably can not fire straight ahead.
  • A ship : In addition to the big cannon and the already well-known gunboat in the background is a slightly larger ship to see. Whether this is only decoration, whether DICE introduces a new Behemoth or whether it is a normal vehicle is so far unknown.
  • New weapons : On the artworks you can see two new weapons with the Fedotov Automatov and the Parabellum MG14 / 17 .
